What the clinic treats.
These are the skin conditions I see most often. Treatment is led by classical Chinese herbal formulas taken internally, and I prescribe topical ointments only rarely. The direction of every prescription depends on the individual constitution and course.
Atopic dermatitis
Commonly on the neck, elbows and backs of the knees, and for some patients the face. The course recurs, and often shifts alongside sleep and digestion. I ask about all of that before deciding on a direction.

Eczema
Including chronic eczema and dyshidrotic eczema. Under the same diagnosis, constitutions and triggers differ widely, and so does the direction of the prescription.

Long-term topical or oral steroids that work for shorter and shorter periods, flare as soon as the dose drops, or no longer hold. I go through your past medication first, then decide the direction of the internal prescription; I will not ask you to stop abruptly.
